EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION <br />AWARD Stahl explained that Council recently approved a <br />program designed to recognize City employees for <br />outstanding service on behalf of the City. <br />Employees are nominated quarterly by their peers <br />and an employee committee reviews the nominees and <br />recommends the finalists to the City <br />Administrator. This quarter, 15 names were <br />submitted as nominees. The finalists and <br />recipients of the second quarter recognition award <br />are Ronny Butler, Foreman with the Public Works <br />Department, Street Division, and A. J. "Jim" <br />Latham a Mechanic with the Public Works <br />Department. Jim has been with the City for 3 1/2 <br />years and Ronny has been with the City for five <br />years. Mayor Fauson presented them with an award <br />and a $100 check. <br />PRESENTATION BY COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS Mayor Fauson stated that the Boulder County <br />Commissioners are taking an entire day to spend in <br />each of Boulder County's cities and today was <br />"Boulder County Day in Louisville." Commissioners <br />Heath, Stewart and Page were introduced and <br />addressed Council. <br />Commissioners Josie Heath thanked Council and the <br />citizens of Louisville for their hospitality today <br />as they met with residents and the business <br />community. Commissioner Heath stated that she <br />would be available to anyone having questions with <br />regard to the proposed County tax election <br />slated for May 16, 1989. Commissioner Heath <br />thanked Council for the opportunity to speak <br />tonight and stated, "Boulder County is pleased to <br />be partners with you in a number of projects that <br />we think are of mutual benefit to the citizens of <br />this County." <br />Commissioner Stewart also thanked the citizens and <br />Council for a very good day in Louisville stating <br />that there was an emphasis on transportation in <br />the future during conversations with residents and <br />the business community. Commissioner Stewart <br />stated that transportation issues are important to <br />the County Commissioners in seeking a solution to <br />the benefit of all the cities in the County. <br />Commissioner Page expressed his appreciation for <br />the warm welcome to the Commissioners. The issues <br />discussed today are of genuine significance to not <br />only Louisville, but the entire County including <br />transportion, economic development, human services <br />and citizen participation, Commissioner Page <br />2 <br />
