that tonight is the advertised public hearing; <br />however, Council has asked that before adopting <br />the Update, a work session with Planning <br />Commission be scheduled to discuss in detail the <br />overall Plan. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing and notice <br />of public hearing was determined. <br />There were no public comments regarding the Comp <br />Plan and Mayor Fauson called for a joint work <br />session be scheduled before consideration of <br />approval. The work session will occur sometime in <br />May and the Comp Plan will be considered at <br />Council's June 6, 1989 Meeting. <br />Anderson moved and Mohr seconded to continue the <br />public hearing for adoption of the Comp Plan 1989 <br />Update to the June 6, 1989 Council Meeting. <br />Motion passed 7-0. <br />Stahl added that David McGuire, the City's former <br />planner who has recently accepted a position in <br />San Diego, was instrumental in putting the draft <br />Comp Plan together. Stahl stated that he greatly <br />appreciated McGuire's efforts and ability in <br />putting together a very comprehensive document <br />that everyone especially McGuire "could be proud <br />of." Mayor Fauson directed Franklin to take that <br />message to McGuire in addition to the Mayor's and <br />Council's appreciation for the work he has done <br />for the City over the past year. <br />Sackett and Anderson requested that they abstain from participation on <br />the next agenda item due to possible conflict of interest. <br />AWARD OF BID - GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE <br />BUILDING Phare explained that at Council's last meeting, he <br />reported on bids received for the Golf Course <br />Maintenance Building. The quoted prices received <br />were well in excess of the budgeted amount. <br />Therefore, staff recommended negotiation with a <br />number of deletes from the original contract with <br />the bidders. Based on these negotiated prices for <br />the revised scope of work, the Public Works <br />Department is recommending the project be awarded <br />to Farge Construction in the amount of <br />$125,148.00. <br />Mayor Fauson moved and Mohr seconded to award <br />Farge Construction the bid in the amount of <br />$125,148.00. Motion passed 5-0-2 with Anderson <br />and Sackett abstaining. <br />7 <br />
