REGULAR BUSINESS: <br />INTRODUCTION OF NEW <br />EMPLOYEES Leesman introduced a new officer in the Public <br />Safety Department, Officer Mark Spender. <br />MAYORAL APPOINTMENT TO UNITED NATIONS DAY IN <br />LOUISVILLE Mayor Fauson appointed Elle Cabbage to serve as <br />Louisville's representative in organizing U.N. Day <br />in Louisville with this year's theme, "Pulling <br />Together: A program for the United Stated in the <br />United Nations and Rights of the Child". National <br />U.N. Day will take place on October 24, 1989. <br />ORDINANCE #995, SERIES 1989 - 911 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE ACCESS AGREEMENT - <br />2ND READING, <br />PUBLIC HEARING Ordinance #995, Series 1989, "An Ordinance Repealing <br />and re-enacting a portion of Ordinance No. 922 with <br />respect to imposition of an emergency telephone <br />charge upon telephone exchange access facilities <br />within the City of Louisville." <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing and the <br />publication of the ordinance and notice of public <br />hearing were established. <br />Stahl explained that Ordinance #995 has been <br />drafted to amend Ordinance #922 with respect to <br />the imposition of an emergency telephone charge upon <br />telephone exchange access facilities within the City <br />of Louisville. The amendment only concerns <br />inconsistencies between Ordinance #922 and the <br />Intergovernmental Agreement concerning the <br />implementation of the E911 emergency telephone <br />service. <br />Mayor Fauson asked for any public comments either in <br />favor of or in opposition to Ordinance #995. None. <br />Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called <br />for a motion. Mohr moved and Ferrera seconded that <br />Ordinance #995, Series 1989 be adopted on second and <br />final reading. Ordinance #995, Series 1989 was <br />adopted by Roll Call Vote, 6-0. <br />ORDINANCE #996, SERIES 1989 - PROVISION FOR TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSES <br />AND FEES - 1ST READING, <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING Ordinance #996, Series 1989, "An Ordinance amending <br />Title 5 of the Louisville Municipal Code concerning <br />the issuance of temporary Liquor Licenses, and <br />creating the fees therefore." Staff is seeking <br />approval to publish the ordinance and call for a <br />public hearing on September 19, 1989. <br />2 <br />
