The <br />Dots were placed on the maps by the participants to show the decades in history they <br />deemed most important. <br />Pre 1900 — large farmsteads to south and limited amount of building activity in the Old <br />Town Dots 14 <br />1900 -1909 — Building boom mostly related to mining Dots 21 <br />1910 -1919 — little bit of activity, nearly steady Dots 10 <br />1920 -1929 — not much construction Dots 11 <br />1930 -1939 — Great Depression, not capital to do much building Dots 12 <br />1940 -1949 — Wartime rationing, not much development Dots 8 <br />1950 -1959 — Louisville did not experience post war boom, move into historic homes left <br />by miners Dots 8 <br />1960 -1969 — beginning of subdivision expansion Dots 9 <br />1970 -1979 — massive subdivision additions Dots 7 <br />1980 -1989 — expanding rapidly Dots 10 <br />1990 -1999 - Dots 3 <br />2000 -2010 - Dots 2 <br />"the next decade" - Dots 3 <br />Over time, most of Louisville's expansion has taken place outside of Old Town with <br />implications for the future of historic preservation program and the Historic Preservation <br />Grant program. <br />April 8, 2015 Community Workshop Attendance: 33 citizens, active participation: <br />- #1: Goals and Objectives Prioritization <br />- #2: Scenarios and Preservation Strategies <br />Activity #1 Goals and Objectives Support for: <br />- Publicizing Benefits of Historic Preservation <br />- Increasing Public Outreach <br />- Advocating Alternatives to Demolitions <br />- Identifying and Evaluating Historic Sites <br />- Creating Technical Briefs <br />- Updating Standards for Historic Structure Assessment Program <br />- Expanding Partnerships with Community Organizations <br />- Promoting Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) <br />- Clarifying Steps in HPF Processes <br />Activity #1 Goals and Objectives Community Suggestions: <br />- Improving Interpretive Signage <br />
