IU cityof
Louisville
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
scheduled for April. A tree planting event could be held in September or October,
perhaps in conjunction with a pruning workshop at the Arboretum.
VII. Delo development landscape plan —Allan reviewed the master planting plan and plant
schedule. His department is currently in discussions about the subdivision maintenance
agreement for the land dedication (next to townhouses on the north and Cannon St to
the east.) It involves defining a base level of maintenance costs per square foot, which
the City would pay to the HOA. The HOA would in turn be responsible for
maintaining the landscape to a standard established in the subdivision agreement.
Regarding the plant schedule, Mike suggested that the selection of grasses be changed
to include a greater number of varieties rather than such large quantities of just a few
varieties.
VIII. North End Phase 3 pocket park —Allan reviewed the landscape plan for this land
dedication, which will be maintained by the North End HOA. The original plan is
several years old, and some features such as the material for the play area surface may
be changed. The plant material has been selected and positioned to enhance the bird
blind and attract wildlife. Allan requested that board members email him with any
questions and comments about the Delo and North End plans.
IX. Discussion Items for August study session with Council —Power point presentation
could include photos of maintenance `eyesores' to highlight need for more resources.
Chris is working on taking inventory of City landscapes, trees, and existing irrigation
systems in order to determine the staffing levels needed for maintenance. Other
possible items: appreciation for funding for Arboretum restrooms; request for new
Arboretum sign; funding for Xeric Garden redesign. Discussion and preparation to
continue during June and August meetings.
X. The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 pm.
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT • 749 MAIN STREET • LOUISVILLE, CO 80027
(303) 335 -4735 FAX (303) 335 -4738
www.Iouisvilleco.gov
PARKS RECREATION SENIOR SERVICES OPEN SPACE FORESTRY TRAILS GOLF
