FL: <br />Ctyot <br />Louisville <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />Memorandum <br />To: Open Space Advisory Board <br />From: Ember Brignull, Open Space Manager <br />Helen Moshak, OSAB Chair <br />Date: June, 10 2015 <br />Re: <br />Agenda Item X.: Develop OSAB Recommendations for the <br />2016 Operational Budget Based on Goals Developed in the <br />May 10 -year Horizon Brainstorming Exercise <br />The City Manager's Office has requested that staff liaisons, for advisory <br />boards /commissions, obtain and submit `2016 Operating Budget board /commission <br />recommendations' to Department Directors. <br />To accomplish this request the OSAB Chair and Vice -Chair hosted a "10 -year <br />Horizon Brainstorming" exercise at the May OSAB meeting to identify board <br />priorities. OSAB identified the following five priority areas (A -D in Operations Budget <br />and E in CIP Budget) listed in descending order based on idea count per area: <br />A. Education and Programs - Open Space Education, Outreach, and Use <br />Programs (42 ideas) <br />B. Natural Habitats - The inventory, study, management and protection of Open <br />Space natural resources (26 ideas) <br />C. Trails- The development and management of Open Space trails and related <br />infrastructure (26 ideas) <br />D. Development Plan- Planning for the development, strategic management and <br />operations of Open Space property acquisition and operations /management <br />program. (6 ideas) <br />E. Acquisition (CIP Funding) <br />June Meeting Preparation: <br />Prioritize Operation Areas (A -D) and your top three ideas for each area. To pick <br />ideas for each area please refer to the brainstorming list that was generated at the <br />May meeting and is included in this packet. Your homework is to complete the chart <br />below and email it to Ember before noon on Monday, June 8th <br />
