The City will be removing a building and sheds to place a new <br />surface parking lot south of their existing surface parking lot. <br />b. The property is located in the AH flood zone district <br />c. Being the property is located in the AH flood zone district, a flood <br />plain development permit is required for any development <br />• The engineer of record, Cameron Fowlkes, has stated development of the <br />parking lot will not adversely affect the surrounding property. <br />• All criteria have been met. <br />• Therefore Staff recommends approval of this request <br />Questions from Board to Staff: <br />Borrmann asked if the vendor buildings will be removed. <br />McCartney stated the vendor buildings and the principal structure will also be removed. <br />None of the structures are historic. <br />Public Present in Opposition of Application: <br />Cameron Fowlkes asked if there were any questions. <br />Stuart asked if there was any increase found. <br />Fowlkes stated the elevation will actually be a little lower than the existing since the <br />buildings will be removed. <br />Ewy asked if the City has any criteria for depth of flooding in a parking lot. <br />Fowlkes stated there aren’t any policies regarding depth of flooding in a parking lot. He <br />added the City is also working on a storm water project which will remove most of <br />downtown from the flood plain. <br />Public Present in Favor of Application: <br />None heard. <br />Public Hearing Closed / Board Discussion: <br />Ewy stated she is very comfortable with the request. <br />Borrmann agreed. <br />Stuart made a motion to approve.
