112 Cityot. <br />Om Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Open Space Advisory Board Meeting Minutes <br />Wednesday, June 9th, 2015 <br />Louisville Public Library: First Floor Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />7:00 pm <br />I. Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. <br />II. Roll Call - <br />Board Members Present: Mike Schantz, Helen Moshak, Christopher Smith, Laura <br />Scott Denton, Linda Smith, Missy Davis <br />Board Members Absent: Spencer Guthrie <br />City Council Members Present: none <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull <br />III. Approval of Agenda - <br />Linda moved to approve the agenda as written. Missy seconded. The motion was <br />passed unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes - <br />Mike moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting without <br />corrections or changes. Linda seconded. The motion was passed unanimousley. <br />V. Staff Updates - <br />A) Recent Education Events <br />May 6 & 14- Staff trained 12 Louisville police department officers on current <br />coyote management protocol. <br />May 23- Noxious Weed identification event had 8 people attend. <br />May 30- The trail repair volunteer event had only 2 RSVPs, despite 26 signs on <br />various city properties. Ember and the board expressed some dismay over the low turn- <br />out. Helen asked if there was a committed core of volunteers who come to these events. <br />Ember said that an email had gone out to the City Open Space listserv. <br />B) Upcoming Education Events: <br />June 14- Plant ID event at 10 -11 at the Rec Center <br />June 18- Wildlife Detectives Program at 6:30 at North Open Space <br />June 23- Coyote Program for kids at 2:00 at the library <br />July 8- Denver Zoo kids program at 2:00 at the library. Topic: animals' <br />characteristics for survival. <br />C) Catherine attended a seed collection training workshop for a public seed collection <br />event next year. <br />D) June 16 -July 9: Boulder County Youth Corp will be working on city Open Space. <br />E) Contractors will begin bird surveys on three properties. <br />F) The wayfinding consultants are doing 3D models of every sign that will be posted on <br />city property to check for accuracy (particularly directional and destination accuracy) <br />City of Louisville <br />Parks & Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027 <br />303.335.4735 (phone) 303.335.4738 (fax) www.louisvilleco.gov <br />2 <br />
