APPROVED -12/19/2007 Board of Adjustment Meeting Minutes April 18, 2007 City Hall, Council Chambers 749 Main Street 7:00 PM Call to Order - Chair Loeblich called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: Board Members Present: Horst Loeblich, Chair Gerry Kelly Bill Cordell Wayne Chancellor, associate member Board Members Absent: John Weise Gunnar Malmquist James Stuart, Vice-chair Staff Members Present: Sean McCartney, Principal Planner Jolene Schwertfeger, Administrative Assistant and Recording Secretary Approval of Agenda - Kelly moved and Chancellor seconded a motion to approve the agenda. Motion passed by voice vote. Approval of Minutes - Cordell moved and Loeblich seconded a motion to approve the February 21, 2007 minutes as prepared by staff. Motion passed by voice vote. Public Comments - Items Not on the Agenda - None heard. Regular Business - Public Hearing Item Loeblich reviewed the procedures for the meeting; opened the public hearing; and reviewed the criteria that must be met for the variance request. ~ Case No. 07-007-VA: 563 W. Cedar Place (Kelly and Tara Gratz), a variance request to allow a reduction in the required minimum rear yard building setback from 25 feet to approximately 18.5 feet to allow the expansion of an existing non- conforming deck on an existing single family house. Public Notice Verification: Schwertfeger verified the public notice requirements: published in the Daily Camera on April 8, 2007; posted in City Hall, the Public Library, the Recreation Center and the Courts and Police Building on April 6, 2007; mailed to surrounding property owners within 500 feet of the subject property on April 6, 2007; the property was posted with the required signage and the appropriate fees were paid.
