Exterior painting of the Jacoe Store and Tomeo House and step <br />reconfiguration at the front of the Jacoe Store are in the 2008 City <br />budget. The City will manage the bid process. <br />B. Commission members whose terms will end in January need to send a letter <br />or email for reappointment or resignation by November 15 to the City <br />Manager's Office. <br /> <br />VIII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts accepted: <br />1. Mary Kay Knorr - Book entitled "Boulder in Perspective: From Search for <br />Gold to The Gold of Research," by J. B. Schoolland. <br />2. Betty Lackner Schmoll - Photos of Pine Street Junction (formerly <br />Lackner's Tavern) taken in 1995. <br />3. Harry Mayor - Photos showing the 5th grade class in Louisville taken in <br />1928, the Mayor home at Jefferson and Caledonia, and the graduating <br />class of 1936. <br />4. Phyllis Nesbit Hawkins - photos relating to Louisville history, including a <br />photo of the Centennial Mine, and newspaper articles and other papers <br />relating to Louisville and area history. <br /> <br />B. Correspondence <br />1. The Museum received the Lafayette Miner's Museum publication; a card <br />from Dixie Colacci thanking those who donated money to the Commission <br />in memory of Joe Colacci; and a thank you note from Coal Creek <br />Elementary School students who toured the Museum; also, a photo of the <br />Museum outhouse was shown in the Boulder Daily Camera. <br /> <br />C. Visitors Report and Tours <br />1. October visitors - 236; Year to Date - 1,361 <br />2. Elementary school students from Monarch K-8 and Louisville Elementary <br />toured the Museum since the last meeting. <br /> <br />D. School Tour Handouts <br />1. The postcards of the statue of the coal miner that in the past have been <br />handed out to elementary school students are running out. The <br />Commission advised that this practice can now be discontinued since the <br />junior historian certificates and activity sheets have been developed. <br />2. The Commission gave approval to order more crayons to hand out to <br />children visiting the Museum to go with the activity sheets. <br /> <br />E. Activity Report <br />1. Museum volunteer Mary Kay Knorr recently finished creating an index to <br />the 1978 Centennial Issue of The Louisville Times which contains pages <br />of information about early families and the history of Louisville. <br />2. Larry Dorsey, Chair of the Superior Historical Commission, spoke on <br />Colorado railroad history at the Louisville Public Library. <br />3. The Louisville Historical Commission was the beneficiary of an $800 <br />donation from the Coal Creek 5K Race. <br />4. A visitor to the Museum inquired about whether the walking tour brochure <br />is being utilized to its fullest. He suggested making it available at the <br />
