Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board
Minutes
November 3, 2005

Regarding an information packet to present to Council at the study
session on Feb. 12, it was decided to provide the following:
A definition and list of toxic synthetic chemicals currently used as pesticides,
along with their commercial brand name (Tim).
Links and references to studies and other information to expand resolution
statements (Matt).
A list of other US cities which have implemented IPM programs (Theresa).

VIII. Arboretum issues. Chris reported only one bid was received for the
pergola construction, and it was almost double the budgeted amount.
He will research alternative, less expensive materials using the same
design, and put out another request for bids by late January.
Regarding the 501 c(3), it has been submitted to the CO Secretary of State's
office, and Chris will check on the status.
Regarding the arboretum brick walkway, Chris will review design and
construction issues after the pergola is completed, with the goal of having both
projects finished by fall of this year.

IX. Website development: Chris will check into posting the draft pesticide
resolution for public review.

X. Book list for library: Chris will give the list of board-recommended books
to librarians for possible inclusion in collection.

XI. Please note there will be a board work session on Thursday, Jan. 17 at
6:30 in the library meeting room.

XII. The meeting was adjourned at 8: 1 0 pm.
