<br />Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />13 February, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Board would work to ensure protection of the trees, riparian zone and associated <br />ecosystem. <br /> <br />Staff Updates - Ember Brignull reported. <br /> <br />1. OSAB resolutions regarding the railroad underpass and prairie dog <br />populations are on the City Council agenda for February 19th. Tom has <br />agreed to represent the Board in presenting these resolutions. <br /> <br />2. Appointment of new members to OSAB has been delayed by Council <br />until February 19th. <br /> <br />3. The Balfour Retirement Community has written a letter of thanks to OSAB <br />for its work on the North End property. <br /> <br />4. The Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring several <br />educational programs this Spring: <br /> <br />a. Black-footed ferret recovery program. Tue. 3/11 <br /> <br />b. Rocky Mountain Raptors date TBA <br /> <br />5. An Open House has been scheduled for community input on trails and <br />future trail links. Wed. 3/125:30 at the library. <br /> <br />6. Urban Drainage District has approved funding for projects in Louisville. <br />Priority sites include an eroding cut bank along Dutch Creek and the <br />Highway 42 underpass at Coal Creek. Also, the UDD will perform clean- <br />up projects at by request and at no charge. <br /> <br />7. A revised map of Boulder County Open Space has been printed and <br />limited quantities are available from the Boulder County Open Space <br />Dept. <br /> <br />8. Russian Olives: The County is promoting efforts to increase eradication <br />of Russian Olives. <br /> <br />9. Ember attended an In-stream Flow workshop and reports that approval <br />has been extended to collect data on 2 reaches of Coal Creek. <br /> <br />10. David Waldman was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for his <br />service to the Open Space Advisory Board. Thank you David. <br /> <br />11. Open Space Tech: The job listing for the new Open Space Tech position <br />is about to be posted. <br /> <br />12. Kathy Martin reported that there is a national job search for the position <br />of Director of Parks and Recreation. The position is expected to be filled <br />in March. <br />
