FT. OF COMMERCIAL SPACE <br />City Attorney Light introduced Ordinance No. 1693, Series 2015 and Resolution No. 36, <br />Series 2015. He noted this is continuance of a public hearing and staff is <br />recommending a continuance. <br />Mayor Muckle opened the public hearing and moved Ordinance No. 1639, Series 2015 <br />be continued to July 14, 2015. Mayor Pro Tem Dalton seconded. All in favor. <br />Mayor Muckle moved Resolution No. 36, Series 2015 be continued to the July 14, 2015 <br />meeting. Council member Keany seconded. All in favor. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Sherry Sommer, 910 S. Palisade Ct., Louisville, CO asked to speak about the previous <br />discussion item. She noted the Sam's Club is being used as a church currently and she <br />felt the church is doing good work in the community. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1691, SERIES 2015 — AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 17 OF <br />THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO DEFINE LIVE -WORK USES AND ALLOW <br />THEIR DEVELOPMENT IN THE MIXED USE ZONE DISTRICTS AND DOWNTOWN <br />LOUISVILLE — 2 "d Reading — Public Hearing — Advertised Daily Camera 05/10/2015 <br />City Attorney Light introduced Ordinance No. 1691, Series 2015 and noted it was before <br />Council on second reading. <br />Mayor Muckle opened the public hearing and requested a staff presentation. <br />Planning and Building Safety Director Russ noted Live -Work is not a new concept. The <br />proposed definition of Live -Work means a single lot with one or more structures <br />combining a commercial activity allowed by -right in the underlying zone district with a <br />single residential living unit. <br />• It is a common Planning term. Every historic community has Live -Work environments. <br />Examples in Louisville are 801 Main Street which was a Post Office and residence <br />(moved to 721 Grant Avenue). The City Hall parcel had a barber with a dwelling unit. <br />The Blue Parrot parcel had a drug store with a dwelling unit behind it. A current example <br />is 901 Main Street which is an office commercial building with an attached single family <br />dwelling. <br />• How do we create a Mixed Use environment? Live -Work is somewhat Mixed Use. It is <br />supposed to be one residential unit and one commercial unit. There is home occupation <br />
