A Board member contact information sheet was circulated for updates.
2. Open government training will be held Monday, March 31 st at 7:00pm
and April 3, at 8:30am in City Council chambers. There will be
additional sessions in the fall. Attending one session is required for all
OSAB members every two years. All board members received an
Open Government & Ethics Pamphlet.
3. Ember circulated several handouts: Open Space Master Plan to new
members, maps and various other informational handouts to the board.
4. The black-footed ferret program was very successful with large
attendance.
5. The search for a new Open Space Technician has resulted in 50
applications. We have many strong candidates and are in the process
of selecting candidates to participate in interviews.
6. Erosion between the Goodhue and Davidson ditches threatens to
merge the two water streams north of the North Open Space.
Concrete Jersey barriers will be placed in the ditch and backfilled to
prevent erosion of the separating ground. They will be camouflaged as
much as possible.
7. City of Louisville is requesting that we record who makes motions and
who seconds them.
8. Mr. Mayhoffer passed away. Service times will be announced.
9. Rocky Mountain Raptor program will be held on April 22nd at 6pm.
10. Ember handed out a citizen's response to the prairie dog resolution
that went to the city council.
11. The Daily Camera interviewed several members of the staff, board,
and community about the prairie dog control resolution.

Board Updates
Truman inquired about the status of the railroad underpass request to
connect the Takoda development to the existing trails. He wanted to
make sure the potential safety benefit of keeping people from crossing the
tracks was included in the proposal to City Council. Ember said that it was
and that staff will continue to pursue the plan.

Tom spoke at length with a Daily Camera reporter about the Prairie dog
resolution. He does not expect it to turn into much of a story.

Linda inquired about the black-footed ferret program. Ember replied that it
is one of the most successful reintroduction programs in the country.
