RESOLUTION NO. 55 <br />SERIES 2014 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH <br />BOULDER COUNTY CONCERNING THE CITY'S USE OF THE BOULDER COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S COMMUNICATIONS CENTER <br />WHEREAS, Boulder County operates a Communications Center for 911 and non - <br />emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services in Boulder County, <br />and which has the capacity to assist other jurisdictions within the County; and <br />WHEREAS, an Intergovernmental Agreement has been proposed between the City and <br />County authorizing the City to utilize the services of the Communications Center for the <br />answering of emergency and non - emergency public safety calls, the dispatching of its Police <br />Department to those calls, and the routine tracking and recording of officer activity, subject to <br />payment of a service fee; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and County are authorized to enter into this Agreement pursuant to <br />state law, including but not limited to C.R.S. § 29 -1 -201 et sec ., and the City Council by this <br />Resolution desires to approve said Intergovernmental Agreement and authorize its execution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1. The Proposed Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Louisville and the <br />County of Boulder concerning the City's use of the Boulder County Sheriffs Communications <br />Center ( "the IGA "), is hereby approved in essentially the same form as the copy of such IGA <br />accompanying this Resolution. <br />2. The Mayor is authorized to execute the IGA on behalf of the City, except that the <br />Mayor is hereby further granted authority to negotiate and approve such revisions to said IGA as the <br />Mayor determines are necessary or desirable for the protection of the City, so long as the essential <br />terms and conditions of the IGA are not altered. <br />3. The Mayor, Chief of Police, City Clerk and City staff are hereby authorized to <br />execute all documents and do all other things necessary on behalf of the City to perform the <br />obligations of the City under the IGA. <br />4. The City's payment obligations under the IGA are current expenditures of the City, <br />payable in the fiscal year for which funds are appropriated for the payment thereof. The City's <br />obligations under the IGA shall be from year to year only and shall not constitute a multiple - fiscal <br />year direct or indirect debt or other fmancial obligation of the City within the meaning of Article X, <br />Section 20 of the Colorado Constitution. <br />Resolution No. 55, Series 2015 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
