After doing some measuring and looking at it, he <br />wrote down eliminate lot 8 and then he went on to make some <br />comments as to what benefits that would provide to the project. <br /> <br /> 1.) It allows the lot one dwelling to move east, sufficient <br /> to make the roadway 24 feet and a 30 foot access <br /> easement. <br /> 2.) It allows lot 1-7 dwellings to move north, sufficient to <br /> allow 24 feet in a 30 foot access easement. <br /> 3.) It allows a public alley on the east to be 24 feet wide, <br /> or larger, and to be 2-way to solve an awkward traffic <br /> movement. <br /> 4.) It allows ease of snow removal, especially on the south <br /> side where the 6 foot high privacy fence will shade the <br /> drives and the alley all winter long. <br /> 5.) It will allow a greater separation between dwellings to <br /> open up the development for both the existing neighbors <br /> as well as the traffic on Pine Street. <br /> <br />Lathrop stated that he made all those comments, and, then read the <br />Planning Commission Minutes that were provided, and now he's <br />confused, because they talked about their approval based on <br />eliminating lot 5 and a few other things, then it dawned on him <br />that Leach must of had nine lots at one time, which in fact he did. <br />My comments still hold true. He did feel that this would be a far <br />superior project on this piece of property, but this would be a far <br />superior project, in the long term for the City of Louisville, with <br />one less dwelling in it. <br /> <br />Davidson: <br /> <br />What kind of problem would parking <br />be along a major collector like <br />that, because it's not exactly a <br />residential collector. There are <br />really no houses actually facing <br />Pine Street until you get into old <br />town. <br /> <br />Phare: <br /> <br />Our plans and our recommendation is <br />to prohibit parking on there. <br />Collector streets also have unmarked <br />bike lanes on them, so when you're <br />parking you're not only narrowing <br />the street for two lanes of traffic, <br />you also have some impact on bicycle <br />traffic. It does present some other <br />problems that we prefer not to deal <br />with, such as: having vehicles in <br />the way when we street sweep, snow <br />plow, and other maintenance <br />activities. We didn't anticipate <br />that this would imply parking on <br />collectors, because our standards <br />are to have no parking on <br />collectors.
