RESOLUTION NO. 71, <br />SERIES 2015 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITYWIDE PRESERVATION MASTER PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville is a home rule municipal corporation organized <br />under and pursuant to Article XX of the Colorado Constitution and the Louisville Home Rule <br />Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, by virtue of such authority, City Council adopted the 2013 <br />Comprehensive Plan on May 7, 2013 by Resolution 18, Series 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2013 Comprehensive Plan includes Policy CH -1.1 that states, "The <br />City should create a Preservation Master Plan to... identify resources and guide the City's <br />Historic Preservation Program and the use of Historic Preservation Funds "; and <br />WHEREAS, historic preservation efforts benefit the City of Louisville by protecting <br />small -town character, creating a sense of place, inspiring comeunity pride, leveraging <br />public dollars for private investment, contributing to environmental sustainability, and <br />cultivating tourism; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council and the Historic Preservation Commission formally <br />initiated a process to review and update the City's Preservation Master Plan, which process <br />consists of several phases and includes various workshops, meetings and hearings <br />regarding the drafting and adoption of the Preservation Master Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, after a duly noticed public hearing on September 23, 2015, where <br />evidence and testimony was entered into the record, the Historic Preservation Commission <br />finds the Preservation Master Plan should be approved as it meets national standards for <br />preservation planning and the requirements of the 2013 Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed the Preservation Master Plan, including <br />the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission and finds that the <br />Preservation Master Plan should be approved, without condition. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Louisville, Colorado does hereby approve the Preservation Master Plan. <br />PASSES AND ADOPTED this 6th day of October, 2015. <br />BY: <br />Robert P. uc e, ayor <br />
