Draft for Apri122, 2008 City Council Study Session <br />driveway which is intended for parking or access to the garage or carport. No <br />more than one such motor vehicle may be an inoperable vehicle as defined in <br />section 8.16.040.D.1 of this code. <br />Cll. For the purposes of this section, "motor vehicle" means any self-propelled <br />vehicle which is desi igled primarily for travel on the public highways and which <br />is eng erally and commonly used to transport persons and property over the public <br />highways, but excluding recreational vehicles as defined in section 17.20.165. <br />DE. Any person found guilty of violating any provision of this section shall be <br />punished for each violation as provided in section 1.28.010. Each act or omission <br />in violation of this section shall be deemed a separate violation and for each <br />calendar day during which any violation continues, a separate violation shall be <br />deemed to have been committed. <br />Section 2. Chapter 17.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended by the <br />addition of a new section 17.20.165, (words to be added are underlined) to read as follows: <br />Sec. 17.20.165. Parking of recreational vehicles and trailers. <br />A. Residential Areas: Recreational vehicles and trailers may be parked in <br />residential zone districts subject to the following requirements: <br />1. Total maximum number allowed: A maximum combined total of two <br />of the following ma} be parked or stored on a residential lot outside of a fully <br />enclosed structure: <br />• Recreational vehicle <br />• Boat <br />• Trailer <br />• Boat on a trailer. <br />2. Number within front_yard setback: No more than one recreational <br />vehicle or trailer may be parked or stored in the front yard setback, or in any area <br />between the street and any wall of a structure facing the street. For corner lots, <br />this restriction applies to all areas between the streets and the walls of the <br />structures facing the streets. <br />3. Improved sur ace required: Any recreational vehicle or trailer <br />parked or stored on private property within a front yard setback, or within an area <br />between a street and any wall of a structure facing the street shall be parked or <br />2 <br />
