He said he appreciated the assistance from Chief
Goodman and Commander Bill Kingston.

Director Wood said at that April 17th Planning Commission public hearing there
was a lot of discussion but the result was that the Commission agrees with the
need for the ordinance and the additions, but wanted to review the number of
units, vehicles, etc. before forwarding the ordinance.

5. City Manager Items
City Manger Fleming told Council that after careful consideration and input from
staff he had made an offer to Joe Stevens for the Director of Parks & Recreation
with a projected start date of July 5th. City Manager Fleming said that he had sent
out a City-wide email informing staff that Mr. Stevens had accepted the position.

Mayor Sisk said that he had emailed Mr. Stevens and welcomed him to the City
and expressed appreciation to Kathy Martin for the work she has done on an
interim basis.

City Manager Fleming went over the Advance Agenda and reminded Council that
the April 29th Boulder County Commissioners Dinner would be at the Library 1 st
Floor Meeting Room at 5:30 PM. He also said that despite the newspaper
headlines the joint meeting with BVSD Board on May 7th at the Louisville Middle
School (LMS) would still be taking place.

Assistant City Manager Balser said that the packet for the Boulder County
Commissioners Dinner would only include the agenda.

Councilor Muckle suggested that LMS be added to the May 6th agenda as a
discussion item to allow a discussion should there need to be one.

Councilor Dalton asked if there was a contract in place for the LMS construction.
Mayor Sisk said that he would need to ask BVSD but that construction had
begun so a person could draw their own conclusion.

City Manager Fleming asked that the Council Retreat on June 10th end at 4:00
PM. Mayor Sisk said that would not be problem and suggested that the lunch
begin at 11 :30 with the meeting starting at noon.

Director Wood said that he thought the Takoda Ordinance 1st Reading could be
moved to the May 6th meeting and the 2nd reading-public hearing remain on June
3rd.

7.
