Sec. 8.20.-040020. Fly-producing conditions. <br /> A It shall be unlawful for any person to maintain or keep within <br /> the City any of the following unsanitary, fly-producing, disease-causing <br /> conditions <br /> 1 Any accumulation of manure on premises where <br /> animals are kept, unless the premises are kept clean and the <br /> manure is kept in a box or vault which is screened from flies and <br /> emptied at least once each week, <br /> 2 Cesspools or like places which are not securely <br /> screened to protect them from flies, <br /> 3 Garbage in any quantity which is not covered or <br /> screened to protect it from flies, or <br /> 4. Trash, litter, rags, or anything whatsoever in which <br /> flies may breed or multiply <br /> B Any of the conditions designated in subsection A of this <br /> section are declared to be nuisances and may be abated as such, in <br /> addition to any penalty which may be imposed for a violation of this Code <br /> Section 3 Sections 6 24 060 and 6 24 070 of the Louisville Municipal Code are <br /> hereby amended to read as follows (words to be deleted are shown in strikeout; words <br /> to be added are underlined) <br /> Sec. 6.24.060. Declaration of nuisance. <br /> The keeping of any bee colonies in the City not in strict compliance with <br /> this chapter is declared to be a menace to the health and safety of the <br /> residents of the City and is hereby declared to be a nuisance Any bee <br /> colony not residing in a hive structure intended for beekeeping, or any <br /> swarm of bees, or any colony residing in a standard or homemade hive <br /> which, by virtue of its condition, has obviously been abandoned by the <br /> beekeeper, is hereby declared to be a menace to the health and safety of <br /> the residents of the City and is hereby declared to be a nuisance Any bee <br /> colonies kept in the City not in compliance with this chapter or otherwise <br /> declared to be a nuisance pursuant to this section may be scarify <br /> subject to destruction or removal from the City at <br /> the direction of the chief of police, or his designee <br /> Sec. 6.24.070.
