AWARD BID - 1993 DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
WATER CONSERVATION

PUBLIC COMMENTS - ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Davidson called for anyone in the audience wishing to speak on any
items not on the Agenda.

Paula Neumann, Boulder County Concerned Citizens, 10935 Dillon
Road, Broomfield, Colorado, asked Council to request the County
Commissioners to put on the November ballot, the issue of putting
five (5) Commissioners elected by and from districts on the ballot,
because by State Statute they're not allowed to do this by petition
drive. She stated that in Council's packet was a memorandum (SEE
ATTACHED) from Lawrence Hoyt, County Attorney, that details how
commissioners can be elected or put on the ballot by petition. The
BCCC feel that there is no commissioner representing this part of
the County, that they are basically representing the City of
Boulder's wishes.

Davidson stated that he would like to put this on the Agenda for
the next Council meeting and have staff create a resolution
justifying five (5) commissioners by district or as a
recommendation to the County Commissioners.

Sisk asked Ms. Neumann if she would get some cost figures as to
what the addition of two (2) County Commissioners would be.

Neumann:

I have those tonight. I'll submit
it prior to the meeting and it can
be in your packet.

Mayer suggested that it be discussed at the Work Session prior to
the next Council meeting.

Davidson stated that it would be on the Agenda for next Wednesday's
Work Session, May 26.

Mayer: I assume someone will inform the
County Commissioners, since they
have an interest.

Annette Brand, City Administrator, agreed.

Davidson called for anyone else in the audience wishing to speak on
any item not on the Agenda.

NONE

Davidson moved on to Regular Business.

'2
