No substantial change in the last month.
Lawrence will circulate financial questions individually.
Motion to Approve Agenda
- Jennifer moves
- Gina seconds
- No opposed
Art Grant Program
Suzanne leads discussion
• Stresses ease; basic form.
• Asking for proposed dates, facility needs, budget, how much LCC covers, target market,
how to measure success and evaluate programs.
• Member comments generally approve of brevity.
• Is there a limit on how much to ask for?
• LCC matching?
• Indicate total budget for applicant's event and what percentage of that budget are they
looking to get?
• Grants are in complement to and do not replace existing LCC events.
• Applicant eligibility requirements
o Takes place in Louisville
o Preference for Louisville -based individuals /organizations
o Support local artists (SCFD doesn't specifically do that)
o Project -based (not operating)
• Talk about grant application timeline and award amounts in November.
2016 SCFD Reauthorization
• CATZ (Ken Smith — Citizens for Arts to Zoo) — Advocating for legislative approval for
SCFD Board's recommendations.
o Function is advocacy, not decision makers. Whatever SCFD Board recommends,
CATZ advocates.
o Disagrees with FACE on the Task Force.
o Points to forecast from 2018 -2030 (pg. 15 PowerPoint).
o SCFD Board /Task Force believes compromised occurred.
• FACE (Susan Honstein) — Task force was dominated by Tier 1 s. There was no consensus
from a sufficient number of other proposals.
o Task Force didn't look at the 20 -30 -50 proposal.
o Want something that will pass.
o Region has changed in 25 years that SCFD has been in effect. Funding stream
needs to change dramatically.
o Support now is unsustainable. Denver is overrepresented. Make funding match
changes in demographics in Colorado.
• CATZ: Task force was not disproportionate.
• FACE: Not enough satisfaction in community for what task force produced. Suburban
CO wants another look and we have that opportunity now.
