(Lathrop) up on the mesa. The winds
up on the mesa are absolutely
nothing to the winds that assault
this property here. For example, we
had a glass patio table at our old
house for five or six years. Within
one week of putting it out on the
deck of the house on South Lark, it
was shattered. We had a gazebo with
an aluminum frame, which we had at
the old property for three or four
years and within a week of having it
on South Lark it was blown over by
the wind. The point I'm making is
that the wind in this area is
severe. If there is construction
going on here, I would like to see
some precautions taken in terms of
wetting the soil to keep the down,
because the wind blows there
constantly.

Wood stated that it's a nuisance issue. He felt that some
clarification as a part of the PUD comment or at least something
that can be transferred through the building permit process, which
would be an agreement to shut down upon the time of some
determination established by the weather service. He stated that
he would be willing to work with any type of additional restriction
that shuts them down on days that are gusting.

Sisk wondered why there couldn't be, as part of the agreement, that
when the winds are blowing "X" miles per hour, work stops.

Wood:

I would fully agree with that.

Nichols:

We agree to that.

Hedding felt that there should be a light at Century and McCaslin.

Blankenship:

I think in everybody's mind in long
term that there is a light that's
going to be installed at that
location. Purely from a traffic
engineering perspective, a traffic
control devise is installed for a
very specific reason. I would
strongly recommend that a traffic
signal not be installed until the
proven warrants have been met. We
will continue to monitor it closely.

26
