PROGRAMS, GOALS, SUB - PROGRAMS, KEY INDICATORS AND <br />2017 -2018 CONTRIBUTING PROJECTS <br />TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM <br />Summary of Activities and Responsibilities <br />The Transportation Program consists of services and activities conducted primarily by the Public <br />Works Department and also, to a lesser degree, by the Planning and Building Safety <br />Department. The work involves a broad range of activities and responsibilities including <br />operation, maintenance, design and construction of streets, as well as evaluating the traffic <br />impact, pedestrian safety and other transportation related aspects of new development. <br />Goal <br />A safe, well- maintained, effective and efficient multi -modal transportation system at a <br />reasonable cost. <br />Sub - Programs <br />The Transportation Program is comprised of the following Sub - Programs: <br />1.
