mi PARKS & RECREATION NEWS <br />NITE AT THE REC <br />Attention all 3rd to <br />6th graders...Nite <br />at the Rec is in full swing <br />this spring! Join us every <br />Friday night (except March 25 & April 15) through May 6 <br />from 7:00 -10:00 PM for all the FUN you can imagine! We <br />have swimming (from 7:00 -9:00 PM), 2 different inflatables <br />each night, music and dancing with DJ Izzy (including dance <br />contests), sports tournaments, concessions (including pizza), <br />novelty items for sale, and raffle prizes! <br />We have theme nights planned on March 11 (St. Patrick's) <br />and on May 6 (Luau). The cost is $12 per participant for <br />Louisville residents; $15 per participant for non - residents. <br />We also offer the Nites 4Pass (4 nights for $36 for Louisville <br />residents; $45 for non - residents) which is good through May <br />6. All creatures <br />in nature change during their lifespan and this program will <br />explore the different stages of development for mammals, <br />amphibians and insects. Children will also participate in a fun <br />art and crafts activity and receive their own coloring cards! <br />Children must be accompanied by an adult. <br />8th Annual Family Fishing Frenzy <br />When: Friday, April 15 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM <br />Where: Warembourg Fishing Pond <br />Appropriate Audience: Ages 5 -15 <br />Bring your kids and your fishing gear and head on down <br />to the Warembourg fishing pond for a fishing clinic sponsored <br />by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Louisville Parks & <br />Recreation Department. Once you make it through all of the <br />educational stations you will be given your very own chil- <br />dren's fishing pole! Children must be accompanied by an adult. <br />Noxious Weed Identification <br />When: Saturday, May 21, 10:00 to 10:45 AM <br />Where: Daughenbaugh Open Space <br />(Meet at Daughenbaugh parking lot, West Cherry Street) <br />Appropriate Audience: Adults <br />Noxious weeds are non - native invasive plants which can <br />quickly displace our native plants and are one of the greatest <br />threats to Colorado's Open Spaces. Come and walk Daugh- <br />enbaugh Open Space with Open Space staff to see and learn <br />about some of Colorado's noxious weeds and why we need to <br />control them.
