need to be in the Urban Renewal area. Other suggestions included Storage
Tech, Centennial Valley, and the Quantum property. We need to get Louisville to
be a recognized destination place.
6 -DISCUSSION OF NEED FOR NEW FEASIBILITY STUDY
While the LCC wants a new feasibility study, several questions arose on the
subject. What has changed since the last one? What would a new study cost,
and where would the financing come from? The last study was funded by the
City, and there's little reason to think that they'd fund another. Looking at the
former study, Don thinks that we'd want to expand the size of the map with a
circle of 10 miles to define the "users." We'd want to build a space with easy
access, and one that would enable people to dress up for shows and restaurants,
and provide space for other things like galleries and shops and so on in the area.
The question is what comes first and who or what generates the energy. The
location would require enough land to allow growth. People must have a reason
to come. It was noted that when everyone is invited to provide input, everyone
can get on the same page and plans can go forth. Some suggested sources of
possible, future financing included Tebo, Arnold Lehman, Conoco-Phillips, and
Mark Udall. First we need to define the space and the needs, and then we can
get someone to talk about money. The committee agreed that a new feasibility
study wasn't needed at this time.
The committee agreed to meet again in a month-on May 12tH
7 -Adjourn
Lynn F. moved to adjourn; Lynn W. seconded, and the meeting adjourned at
8:50 p.m.
