Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />April 3, 2008 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Arbor Day Planning -Volunteer planting will be between 9 and 11 a.m. The <br />notice will be in the paper and on the website. The ceremonial planting will take <br />place after that. There will be a bar-b-q and King Soopers and Sams club will be <br />donating food. <br />Review of Tree Preservation Ordinances from Aspen, Basalt and Telluride - <br />This issue will stay on the adgenda as board members familiarize themselves <br />with current ordinances. <br />Arboretum <br />1. Pergola update -The closing date for bids is mid April and construction <br />should be started by May. Chris will put pictures of the designs up for <br />arbor day. <br />2. Arboretum 501 ©3 - HFAB will vote to approve board members in <br />May and Chris will change some language to remove himself from the <br />board and the incorporator to eliminate any conflicts of interest. <br />3. Tree Identification Signs - Trex material will be used for the on 4x4 <br />posts with a concrete footer and different colors for different zones of <br />trees. Engraved metal will be used for the signs. <br />4. Xeric Garden Maintenance and Replant -After arbor day we will tackle <br />this issue (keep on agenda) <br />Ongoing development of HFAB's section on the City's website -nothing <br />new to report. <br />Future presentations/seminars at the Library related to horticulture and <br />recommended book list for library. -Nothing new to report. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 p.m. <br />
