He asked if a different kind of marketing approach could <br />accomplish the same thing for less money. <br /> <br />Hogan noted that other communities have done large scale marketing campaigns. The <br />result has generally been to create a great deal of good will among the business <br />community, more than to generate new sales tax revenue for the City. <br /> <br />Members discussed the possible alternatives or adaptations to the gift card program. <br />They included: <br />1. Ask the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business Associati <br />funds for the program; <br />2. Do our own Shop Louisville Marketing campaign with a portion of the fu g; <br />3. Start with a Shop Louisville Campaign and then lead into th Gift Card Pr ram; <br />4. Do nothing. <br /> <br /> <br />Lathrop noted he felt the gift card program was one really tangible wa or businesses to <br />feel the effects or and support of the program. <br /> <br />Members decided to forward the options to City Council for roader discussion and <br />decision at the City Council meeting on April 17. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATION WITH TH USINESS COMMUNITY <br /> <br />Hogan discussed her desire to identify a sm people representing of the <br />business community that could be used by B a sounding board for ideas or <br />programs that would affect the business community. <br /> <br />The subcommittee that worked on the business congress ideas will meet to determine <br />how best to identify some bus.iness owners for the task. <br /> <br />REVIEW 0 <br /> <br /> <br />ARTER WORK PLAN OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />Hogan went over s <br />year. She highlig <br /> <br /> <br />of the goals for the Committee for the second quarter of the <br />Business Retention Visits and the ICSC visit. <br /> <br />Balser noted the ne the Committee to begin work on its budget request for 2008. <br />Hog will bring some oject ideas to the Committee in May to help determine a budget <br />req e City Council to consider as it begins the 2008 budget process. <br /> <br /> <br />WEBSITE <br /> <br />Muth reported that there are still difficulties with getting our files from ccintellect for the <br />site. We hope to have it resolved soon. Hogan and Balser will speak with ccintellect in <br />hopes of getting the process moving. <br /> <br />OFFICE ROUND TABLE UPDATE - APRIL 5 <br /> <br />Hogan gave an update on the panel members for the April 5 roundtable discussion. <br />
