<br />City Council Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 2, 2007 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />Subcommittee members also noted the hope that this program could begin in 2007 with <br />a basic marketing campaign but that the hope for 2008 would be to dovetail the program <br />with a gift card program that the business community would oversee. <br /> <br />BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROCESS <br />Hogan reported that some members of City Council had questioned why the BAP <br />process was so lengthy. Hogan noted that it can take four or more months from the <br />original discussions to a final approval from City Council. The process is often dictated <br />by the fact that City Council can only give direction at regularly scheduled meetings and <br />waiting for those can add significant time to the process. <br /> <br />RETENTION VISIT UPDATE <br />Muth reported that there had been three retention visits to Avista A <br />Wildwood Guitars, and Cable Labs. Lathrop reported on the visit to A <br />very well. He noted that CEO John Sackett had a suggest. n for the C to sponsor a <br />CEO breakfast for the top 15-20 companies in town.
