<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />May 21 , 2008 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />C. Louisville High School and Middle School artifacts are to be donated to the <br />Museum and arrangements will be made for items to be loaned by the <br />Museum to the school <br />D. There will be a walk through at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, May 28th to identify <br />what may be salvaged from the school before demolition. Business Sponsor <br />Mike Oliver has volunteered to photograph the school. <br />E. Louisville has created a new "Life in Louisville" photography competition. It <br />will establish a photo archive the City can use. These photographs will <br />become the property of the City and copies will be donated to the Museum. <br />F. Bob Enrietto has resigned from the Commission. Commission members <br />decided to present Bob a gift certificate of appreciation for his years of <br />service to the Commission. <br /> <br />VIII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts From Donors <br />1. Ricky Pickett: four photos of Louisville High School football players and <br />cheerleaders from 1960s <br />2. Terry Barday: football programs, play program, and other programs from <br />Louisville High School, 1960s <br />3. Monarch High School: 2008 Yearbook <br />B. Correspondence <br />1. News items from Boulder Camera <br />2. Recent publications from area museums <br />C. Visitor's Report and Tours <br />1. April Visitors: 98 <br />2. Year to date: 348 <br />D. Activity Report <br />1. Tours <br />a. Don Ross recently gave tours for Mesa Elementary 5th graders and <br />gave tours at the Museum on May 3rd <br />b. Bridge School - class tour <br />c. Representatives from Superior viewed the windows and chimneys of <br />the Museum's Summer Kitchen and Tomeo House to aid in the <br />rehabilitation of the Superior museum building <br />d. The Museum will open for two hours on May 17th for tours by <br />Louisville High School alumni <br />2. Bridget Bacon is working cooperatively with the Louisville Middle School <br />for donations of school artifacts to be made directly to the Museum. <br />3. As a result of recent tours, several people have discovered their relatives <br />on the Museum's World War II film of Louisville servicemen and women, <br />"Our Boys and Girls in the Armed Forces, 1943-44." <br />4. Bridget Bacon recently attended one day of the national conference of the <br />American Association of Museums in Denver, which was attended by <br />5,500 museum professionals. She also attended a meeting of the <br />Association of Northern Front Range Museums that had the topic of <br />museum stores and sales. <br />5. An upcoming project is to have a new sales display case built for the <br />Museum for displaying all merchandise in one place. <br />
