<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />May 21 , 2008 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />C. Events & Fundraising <br />1. Planning meeting has been held. Auction items for the Labor Day Silent <br />Auction should be confirmed by the first week of August. <br />2. The Museum will be open during the Taste of Louisville on Saturday, <br />June 14th and the Commission will have a booth on Main Street with sales <br />merchandise. Commission members signed up to assist with tours at the <br />Museum, making pizzelles in front of the Museum, and staffing the booth. <br />Bridget Bacon will seek additional Museum volunteers to help at the <br />Museum that day. <br />3. There will be no Commission booth at the Touch-a-Truck event this year, <br />but requests will be made for another organization to possibly sell books <br />on behalf of the Commission. <br />4. The 2008 Holiday Home Tour is being planned and some homeowners <br />have accepted invitations to have their homes on this year's tour. <br />D. Membership <br />1. Since January 1, 2008, there have been 68 new paid memberships, <br />including 3 that were generated as a result of the May Society program <br />2. Dan Mellish will continue to pursue Business Sponsorships <br />3. Channel 8 membership video still under consideration <br />4. Commission members will each be given two complimentary annual <br />memberships to give to persons of their choice, with the idea that the <br />complimentary members may decide to join. <br />E. Public Relations - Idea of requesting the Louisville Times to publish an <br />article from the Louisville Historian is being considered. <br />F. Then/Now Photo Project - Bridget Bacon will be discussing this proposed <br />project with Business Sponsor Mike Oliver. <br /> <br />X. Chairperson's Report <br />A. Laptop computer purchase is in progress. <br />B. The deposit for Goodhue rental was returned. <br /> <br />XI. Commission Comments - None <br /> <br />XII. Discussion Items For Next Meeting <br /> <br />XIII. The meeting adjourned at 8:29 PM. <br />
