Sackett moved that Mr. Smith to be appointed as a
Regular Member of the Board of Appeals. Anderson
seconded the motion.. By acclamation, Mr. Smith was
appointed to the Board of Appeals as a Regular
Member.
Appointed to the Board of Appeals:
Ray Sears (3 yrs.)
Steve Pendergrast (3 yrs.)
Dave Smith (3 yrs.)
Mayor Fauson nominated Arnold Mullen as an Associate
Member to the Board of Appeals.
Sackett asked the implications of leaving the
Associate position open at this time. Mayor Fauson
stated that there would only be one associate member
to call upon should a regular member be unable to
attend a meeting.
Sackett stated that this Board serves a very
important function for the City and he feels
somewhat uncomfortable with the candidate's position
and lack of knowledge of Council's goals. Sackett
suggests that if the- candidate is willing to become
more familiar with the position and Council's
activities several month down the road, then he can
be reconsidered for the associate vacancy.
With no second to tYie Mayor's motion, the motion was
withdrawn.
The Associate Member vacancy to the Board of Appeals
will remain unfilleci until a later date.
COURT APPOINTMENTS
Mayor Fauson stated that it was the consensus of
Council at a current. a Work Session that Council
would preferred to delay action on the positions of
the Associate Judge and the Prosecuting Attorney
until further study has been conducted.
The Municipal Judge is currently Lee Hawke.
Szymanski moved that: Council reappoint Mr. Hawke as
the City of Louisville's Municipal Judge. Mohr
seconded. By acclamation, Lee Hawke was appointed
at the City's Municipal Judge.
4
