Unanimous.
AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN BIDS FOR PIRATES PARK
IMPROVEMENTS Lillo explained that in the 1988 Capital
Improvements Program $30,000 was provided for the
improvements to Pirates Park. Improvements include
installation of a new irrigation system, tennis
court resurfacing, replacement of tennis court
windscreens and miscellaneous landscape improvements
to the park. Plans and specifications have been
prepared by staff on the installation of the
irrigation system and for miscellaneous landscape
improvements including installing of planter boxes,
plant material, sod and seeding. The engineer's
estimate for this work is $19,700. Resurfacing of
the tennis courts will occur later this year with
the remaining funds. Staff requests authorization
for the Community Services Department to obtain bids
for installation of the Pirates Park irrigation
system and miscellaneous landscape improvements.
Carnival asked to what extent the tennis courts will
be resurfaced with the remaining funds. Lillo
stated that there will be sufficient funds to
perform a seal coat of the courts. The irrigation
system is the top priority and the seal coating of
the tennis courts i;s the second priority.
Mayor Fauson moved and Szymanski seconded to approve
authorization to bid the Pirates Parks improvements.
Unanimous.
CDBG LETTER OF INTENT Wanush explained th<~t in order to be eligible for
State Community Devc=_lopment Block Grant Funds, a
letter of intent st<~ting that the City intends to
submit a full application at a later date must be
submitted to the St<~te.
