COUNCIL AUTHORIZATION - AWARD BID - HUTCHINSON <br />STREET PROJECT Based on the bids received on June 14, 1988 for <br />the reconstruction of Hutchinson Street from <br />Roosevelt Avenue to Jefferson Ave, the Public <br />Works Department requests that Council award the <br />bid to Seigrist Construction at their low bid of <br />$31,436.00 with an alternate bringing the total to <br />$35,133.50. Seigrist Construction is qualified <br />and capable of completing the work and has <br />undertaken similar projects in the past. The <br />Contract Documeni:s~were reviewed by the City <br />Attorney prior to the bid process. <br />Anderson moved and Sackett seconded to award bid <br />for Hutchinson Street project to Seigrist <br />Construction, and. authorized the Mayor and the <br />City Clerk to sign the contract documents on <br />behalf of the City. Motion passed 5-0.. <br />APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER #1 - 1988 CIP ASPHALT AND <br />CHIP SEAL PROJECT Following the recent bid award for the 1988 <br />Asphalt Patching a:nd Chip Seal Project, the Public <br />Works Department was left with nearly $8,000 in <br />the street repair: budget for the year. After <br />reviewing the current needs of the street repair <br />budget Public Works has come up with two areas in <br />which the remaining money could be put to use. <br />The first would be to use $4,300 to repair <br />existing Chip Seals. The remaining $3,700 will be <br />used to purchase materials for additional pavement <br />repair and pavement marking projects. <br />Fauson moved and Mohr seconded to approve Change <br />Order #1 in the amount of $4,304.15 to the 1988 <br />Asphalt Patching and Chip Seal Project. Motion <br />passed 5-0. <br />APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER #1 - 1988 CIP CONCRETE <br />REPLACEMENT PROJECT Recently the Council awarded the 1988 Concrete <br />Replacement Project in the amount of $20,926.85. <br />Total budget for concrete replacement is $30,000. <br />After review of areas in need of sidewalk and <br />concrete replacement Public Works presented a map <br />of proposed work location. The estimated total <br />cost of work is approximately $7,500. Public <br />Works is asking for this Change Order that will <br />authorize the 1988 Concrete Replacement work in <br />the amount of $28,!500. The balance, $1,500 can be <br />used to address late requests should they appear. <br />Mohr moved and Anderson seconded to approve Change <br />Order #1 for the Concrete Replacement Project in <br />the amount of $7,!500. The motion passed 5-0. <br />5 <br />
