OTHER:
APPROVAL OF AWARD OF BID - TRUCK FOR GOLF
COURSE Stahl stated that staff is requesting Council
approval of a bid :from the Public Works Department
regarding award of bid for a truck for the golf
course.
Phare explained that the vehicle is a Chevy S10
4x4 pickup that will be used by the golf course
construction manager for the next 12 months and
then will be used lby the golf course management
group for maintenance, etc. pertinent to the golf
course operation. With three quotes, staff is
recommending the b:id be awarded to Hajek Chevrolet
in Longmont in the amount $12,344.17. The golf
course construction budget contains funds for
maintenance equipment and the cost of this pickup
will be charged to that fund.
Mayor Fauson moved that Hajek Chevrolet be awarded
the bid for the golf course truck in the amount of
$12,344.17. Carnival seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
CALIFORNIA DEVICES Stahl stated that California Devices has been in
Chapter 11 Bankruptcy for about a year and most
recently they announced that they will be moving
to Chapter 7 which is liquidation. California
Devices is a firm that is located on the Storage
Tech parcel. As a result of this action, staff
asked the City Attorney to investigate the
position of the Citty's portion of property taxes
as well as some ut:Llity bills. Apparently the
action was filed in a California bankruptcy court
and the City Attor~ley is corresponding with an
attorney in California regarding this matter.
Stahl is seeking Council authorization to have the
City Attorney's office continue to work with the
attorney in California to obtain the appropriate
records and protecit the City's position as a
creditor in the bankruptcy action in California.
Mayor Fauson moved that the City Attorney be
authorized to proceed in representing the City of
Louisville as a creditor in any bankruptcy
proceedings with r<agard to California Devices.
Scarpella seconded. Motion passed 5-0.
PUBLIC COMMENTS Jane Monson, 631 W.. Aspen Ct., asked when the
appropriate time would be to ask questions
regarding the proposed 1989 Budget. Mayor Fauson
stated that there would be a public hearing held
on October 18 regarding the City's proposed 1989
Budget. That woulci be the appropriate time to ask
questions.
5
