would provide acces>s to the site itself. This
site also provides for the least disruption to any
of the environment and would blend in quite well
with the existing conditions. This will also be
the most cost effective site.
Hundley asked that Council authorize the submittal
of an easement request to the City of Boulder for
Site 1 (identified by Phare as being the best
site) and that Council authorize staff to submit a
Special Use Permit request to Boulder County for
the placement of ari at-grade tank at that site or
any other alternative that may be reasonable to
consider.
The next meeting of` the Boulder Open Space Board
is on February 11, 1987, and Hundley requested
that this item be placed on the agenda for this
meeting.
Mayor Fauson and Hundley met with the City of
Boulder to express an interest in a working
relationship in order to make this request
possible. However, the Boulder Open Space Board
will be considering the request first.
Mayor Fauson stated that Louisville should go
before the Board "not with hat in hand", but with
a position that this is a cooperative effort
whereby both Boulder and the City of Louisville
will benefit by having an at-grade tank as opposed
to an elevated tank:.
Mohr concurred stating this can be a win-win
situation but expressed concern with time
constrains by pursuing this proposed process.
Szymanski stated that in dealing with the Boulder
Open Space Board Louisville must convey that this
is a request for an easement only with no
conditions imposed upon the City's water tank,
water lines or water supply.
Mayor Fauson agreed stating that Boulder did try
to impose some restricts on the use of the City's
water during negotiations on property near the
City's reservoir.
Sackett agreed that this in an opportunity for the
two cities to enter into a mutually beneficial
agreement.
Mayor Fauson encouraged Councilmembers to attend
the Boulder Open Space hearing.
9
