The market is <br />different at this level. A feel and a look with <br />some unique design feature is desirable. Hoyt <br />also felt that the maintenance of sidewalks is an <br />important issue for the City to consider. Hoyt <br />stated that the safety issue doesn't seem to be a <br />factor as there are several developments within <br />Boulder County and the surrounding areas where <br />this type of feature has been around for a long <br />time. <br />Mohr stated that if the safety issue is real, he <br />would agree then that sidewalks on both sides of <br />the street are necessary. Mohr feels that more <br />information needs Ito be available before making a <br />final decision. <br />Anderson stated that a specific environment is <br />necessary to markett the type of housing proposed <br />at The Grove. Thoese differences create the <br />opportunity to develop up-scale types of housing. <br />We have environmental factors that can be utilized <br />for this type of development. If safety is an <br />issue, then sidewalks should be placed on both <br />sides. However, Anderson feels that if safety <br />isn't the issue, this type of plan makes sense and <br />would recommend approval. <br />Scarpella stated that he feels that this type of <br />development does not create any problems for the <br />City or the residents by having a sidewalk on one <br />side. <br />Mayor Fauson asked that Council consider delaying <br />final vote on The Grove until more information can <br />be provided and suggested that Council look at <br />other subdivisions where this type of design was <br />used. <br />Mayor Fauson moved that Resolution #16 be delayed <br />to the June 15th meeting so that Council will have <br />an opportunity to z~eview the Agreement more <br />thoroughly.
