that important. Szymanski also wants to be sure to
include in the criteria for the consultants how cost
effect the design of the proposed golf course is as
well as the maintainability of that configuration.
Mohr concurred with Szymanski regarding the time
element and also feels that retaining these consul-
tants would be the most cost effective route to go.
Mohr moved and Mayor Fauson seconded to authorize
the City Administrat:or to engage the services of
Pannell Kerr Forster to assist the staff in
determining the technical and financial feasibility
of the proposed Coal. Creek Golf Course in an amount
not to exceed $5,000.
The motion passed 5-•0 with Anderson and Sackett
abstaining.
OTHER:
WORKSHOP Hundley advised Council of a two-day seminar
workshop on Thursday and Friday regarding the
Supercolliding Super Conductor being held in Denver.
It is a national symposium hosted by the Governor
and Joseph Coors. "It is important to show the
support that the State of Colorado has for this
project as it could have significant impacts on us."
APPROVAL OF WATER PURCHASE CONTRACTS - MARSHALL LAKE AND SOUTH BOULDER AND
COAL CREEK Phare explained that at the last City Council
meeting, Council was provided a correspondence
regarding approval of water share purchases.
However, the item was pulled from the Council Agenda
because of the inabi3'_ity to reach an understanding
on the sale agreement: with the sellers. The
differences between the sellers and the City have
since been resolved and the water purchase
agreements are again being presented to Council for
their review and approval. The agreements represent
the same conditions as those provided to Council at
the last meeting. To reiterate, Phare stated that
the City will immediately purchase 4 shares of
Marshall Lake Stock f'or cash, and enter into a
contract for the purchase of 4 shares of Marshall
Lake and 4 shares of South Boulder Coal Creek over a
12 month contract period, and a lease with
preemptive right to purchase 4.7 shares of Marshall,
and possibly 1 share of South Boulder Coal Creek.
The contracts have been written so that should the
seller refuse to complete the sale on any and all
contracts, the City has the right to withdraw from
any and all contracts.
6
