PROCLAMATION Mayor Meier procl~simed January 20, 1986, as the first observance of the federal legal holiday, to honor the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and encouraged appropriate observance and activities to ensure the observance and commemoration of t:his Holiday. ORDINANCE #877 - DISCONTINUANCE OF WATER SERVICE - PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #877, "An Ordinance amending the procedure under Title 13 of the Louisvi]'.le Municipal Code concerning discontinuance of water service." The Ordinance was properly published as was notice of the Public Hearing. Mayor Meier openec~ the Public Hearing. Phare briefly exp]Lained the purpose of the Ordinance. Mayor Meier asked for any Public Comment in favor of or in opposition to Ordinance #877. None. Mayor Meier closed the Public Hearing and moved that Ordinance #8'77 be adopted. Cussen seconded. By roll call vote, Ordinance #877 passed unanimously. ORDINANCE #878 - SEWER RATES PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #878, "An Ordinance amending Chapter 13.28 of the Louisville Municipal Code concerning rates and sewer service." The Ordinance was properly published as was notice of the Public Hearing. Mayor Meier opened the Public Hearing. Hundley advised Council that the rate increase was necessary for repayment of the $2.755 million dollar bond sale i`or use in the upgrading of the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant from .9 mgd to 2.1 mgd. Mayor Meier asked for Public Comments in favor of or in opposition 1:o Ordinance #878. None. Mayor Meier closed the lPublic Hearing and moved that Ordinance #878 be adopted. Fauson seconded. By roll call vote, Ordinance #878 passed unanimously.
