Wanush briefly described the parcel in the <br />annexation request and asked that his comments <br />made during the presentation of Ordinance #906 be <br />a matter of record for this Ordinance as well. <br />The applicant asked that the comments made during <br />the presentation of Ordinance #906 be a matter of <br />record for this Ordinance also. <br />Mayor Fauson asked for public comments regarding <br />this Ordinance. <br />Margaret Hornbostel stated that there has been <br />reference made to a hotel being constructed on <br />this property. Hundley stated that he has no <br />knowledge of a hotel at this time. <br />Mohr stated that Mr. Menkick explained very <br />specifically that he has been approached as has <br />Mr. Biella by several developers of which one put <br />a specific contract on this property. "I don't <br />think we are just hoping someone stops by. It <br />seems to me there is sufficient indication that <br />there is a significant amount of interest in this <br />area -- an interest that could well add to our tax <br />base in the direction of economic development we <br />are pursuing." <br />Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called <br />for a motion. <br />Carnival moved that Ordinance #908 be adopted with <br />conditions outlined in Ordinance #906. Scarpella <br />seconded. By Roll Call Vote Ordinance #909 was <br />adopted unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE #909 - BIELLA/MENKICK ZONING <br />PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #909, <br />"An Ordinance amending Title 17 of the Louisville <br />Municipal code entitled "Zoning" by zoning <br />property of approximately 113.48 acres owned by <br />Richard F. Biella and George F. and Kyung S. <br />Menkick." Proper publication and notice of public <br />hearing were established. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing. <br />Wanush referred to the Louisville Futures <br />Conference on Economic Development wherein <br />criteria for a commercial site was discussed. <br />Among the things agreed upon regarding the <br />suitability of a site was that not only planners, <br />councilmen or citizens might think a site to be a <br />good site, but developers also think it a good <br />site for commercial/retail development.
