PROCLAMATION - YOUTH ATHLETIC
ACTIVITY WEEK Mayor Fauson read the proclamation declaring
November 8-15 as Youth Athletic Activity Week in
the City of Louisville. Ken Ferrera explained the
program and asked that the community support the
fund raising efforts of the Louisville Youth
Activities Association and purchase a calendar.
APPOINTMENT TO HISTORICAL
COMMISSION Hioco asked that the Mayor and Council endorse
the Historical Commission's recommendations to
appoint Shirley Ferarese and John Garcia to the
Historical Commission.
Anderson moved that Shirley Ferarese and John
Garcia be appointed to the Historical Commission.
Mayor Fauson seconded. On October 9 and October 14, bids were
received for both the effluent pipeline and
the plant expansion projects. Staff recommends
approval of bid awards to Robert Dougan Const. Co.
in the amount of $2,016,904 and to Bidof-SCE for
the pipeline project in the amount of $89,327.
Phare explained that the combined total was
considerably less than the engineer's estimate of
$2.9 million.
Hundley explained that debt retirement for this
project is closely tied to the number of taps that
are issued. If the City were to have a bad year,
even with the cushion available from the lower
than estimated bid, this cushion would only
offset 25-30 taps. If there were a major problem,
the City may need to look at raising taps and/or
service fees to cover the debt retirement. But
this does give the City a cushion that has not
been available in the past.
Mayor Fauson moved that the bids for the Waste-
water Treatment Plant be awarded to Robert Dougan
Const. Co. in the amount of $2,016,904 and to
Bidof-SCE for the pipeline project in the amount
of $89,327. Mayor Pro Tem seconded. Unanimous.
ORDINANCE #918 - HEALTH PARK ANNEXATION #1 -
1ST READING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #918,
"An Ordinance annexing to the City of Louisville,
Colorado, a parcel of approximately 7.213 acres
2
