Proper <br />publication and notice of public hearing were <br />established. <br />Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing. <br />Hundley explained that on March 18, 1986, the City <br />retained A.S. Hansen, Inc. for the purpose of <br />providing assistance and guidance in developing <br />and implementing a competitive and equitable pay <br />system for compensating employees. Job evalua- <br />tions were performed on each position in the City <br />based on it's "internal value" and the "market <br />value" established by the competition. Based on <br />the results of the job evaluation process, an <br />appropriate grade and rate structure was developed <br />for each position with in the City. Ordinance <br />#921 outlines the salary structure that was <br />developed from the Compensation Study. <br />Mayor Fauson asked if there were any public <br />comments in favor of or in opposition to Ordinance <br />#921. None. <br />Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called <br />for a motion. <br />Mohr moved that Ordinance #921 be adopted. <br />Szymanski seconded. By Roll Call Vote, Ordinance <br />#921 was adopted 6-0. <br />(Carnival rejoined the meeting at this point.) <br />ORDINANCE #922 - E911 EMERGENCY PHONE SYSTEM - <br />1ST READING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #922, <br />"An Ordinance imposing an emergency telephone <br />charge upon telephone exchange access facilities <br />within the City of Louisville; authorizing service <br />suppliers to collect said emergency telephone <br />charges; and authorizing the mayor to sign an <br />intergovernmental agreement creating an Emergency <br />Telephone Service Authority in order to establish <br />and operate an emergency telephone service system <br />in the City of Louisville."
