Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 8, 2016 <br />Page 5 of 13 <br />The Historic Preservation Commission should review the demolition permit application <br />based upon any of the following criteria in Section 15.36.200(H) of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code: <br />1. The eligibility of the building for designation as an individual landmark <br />consistent with the purposes and standards in this chapter; <br />2. The relationship of the building as a potential contributing structure to a <br />potential historical district per the criteria set forth in this chapter; <br />3. The reasonable condition of the building; and <br />4. The reasonable projected cost of restoration or repair. <br />In considering the condition of the building and the projected cost of restoration or repair <br />as set forth in subsections H.3 and H.4, above, the commission may not consider <br />deterioration caused by unreasonable neglect. <br />Landmarks must be at least 50 years old and meet one or more of the criteria for <br />architectural, social or geographic /environmen �, .;'gnificance as described in Louisville <br />Municipal Code (LMC) Section 15.36.050(A <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />Staff has found probable cause to believe the pro <br />designation based on the following` <br />eligible for landmark <br />Social Significance — Exemph �.litica , omic or social heritage of <br />the community. <br />The house was lived in by the K <br />Architectural Signification — Exem specific e ements of an architectural style <br />or period. <br />The house mplifies ents of t raftsman style in early 20th century <br />Louisville. <br />for 80 years. <br />The HPC may th it, or place a tay on the application for up to 180 days <br />from the date of ap ion, h was December 18, 2015. A 180 day stay would <br />expire on June 15, 2016. Sta mends the Historic Preservation Commission place <br />the full stay of 180 days to allow pplicant time to consider design alternatives for the <br />proposed new construction with a member of the Historic Preservation Commission. <br />Commission Questions of Staff. <br />None. <br />Applicant Presentation: <br />Thomas Ramsey, Westmark Design & Construction, 1100 Grant Avenue, Louisville, CO <br />I am the building contractor who will be involved in this project. We are switching gears <br />as of one week ago and are looking to work with the existing structure. We have nothing <br />concrete and no concept drawings at this point to show the HPC. The homeowner and <br />the architect have not agreed on anything. From talking with Staff, I think I am asking for <br />a continuance. We do not want to waste anyone's time. <br />Commission Questions of Applicant: <br />Haley says we are grateful for the change of heart. <br />
