Task Force <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 16, 2016 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />There was discussion of a MAC space versus a field house by Alex Gorsevski and Chris <br />Kastelic. It was decided that the MAC space was what will be identified for this project <br />and that field houses were more of a private sector amenity. <br />Susan Loo questioned why do we offer preschool in the Recreation Center programs <br />and Jeff Lipton questioned what the long term vision for preschool is at the LRC. Lipton <br />asked staff to find out what plans BVSD has for preschool within the schools. <br />Discussion was had about the needs of a separate entrance for the senior center and <br />conversation about what is the primary function of the Senior Center/ Rich Bradfield <br />asked if it was social, emotional or physical. Deb Fahey commented about the need to <br />move the pool tables away from the entrance of the senior center. <br />Michael Menaker commented on need for the center to be focused on wireless services <br />throughout the building including senior computers. Tom Tennessen asked if an <br />indoor /outdoor pool scenario was a realistic option at the LRC. Jeff Lipton and Michelle <br />Van Pelt talked about CU pool example. Susan Loo also commented about the Parker <br />recreation center and pool and thought it was a good example. Jeff Lipton requested that <br />work be done to give Memory Square a contemporary pool house. <br />VI. Task Force Comments and Identification of Future Agenda Items and <br />Meeting Dates —Next task force meeting will be March 30th, 2016 and an update <br />to City Council will be done on April 5th, 2016. <br />VII. Adjourn -The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 pm. <br />4 <br />
