Meek has until <br />recently been a ;resident of Louisvill just <br /> e and <br />been actively involved with the commission. has <br />He <br /> continues to work in Louisville and has several <br /> memberships within the City. <br /> Mayor Meier highly recommended both Huson and Meek <br /> and moved that both candidates be appointed to the <br /> Historical Commission. Johnson seconded, and the <br /> motion was passed unanimously. <br />PROCLAMATION FOR <br />HISTORICAL MONTH Mayor Meier read the proclamation in its enti rety <br /> declaring the month of March as Louisv ille <br /> Historical Month. <br />LOUISVILLE DEVELOPMENT <br />CORPORATION PRESENTATION <br />Tom Thompson addressed Council conveying that the <br />LDC has joined ranks with the Chamber of Commerce <br />in order to strengthen both organizations and <br />improve the effectiveness of both. They have <br />elected to try to broaden their financial lending <br />capability by lending to tenants as w-ell as <br />property owners. The LDC office on Main Street <br />has been closed as an economic move at this time. <br />Thompson confirmed that the downtown project is <br />not dead and they are working toward keeping this <br />a :main focus crediting Terry Hundley, City <br />Administrator, for helping them in their efforts. <br />They are working aggressively to find an economic <br />director. <br />Ernie Marinelli, Unit Director, related the <br />organization's efforts regarding the fall events <br />that they will be sponsoring. They are seeking a <br />central location in the downtown area, hopefully <br />the Municipal Park=ing Lot on the corner of Front <br />and Spruce Streets. They will be putting on a <br />western "shoot-out" performed by the Colorado <br />Stuntman's Association. No one in the area has <br />had this. event anci it will include stagetype <br />storefronts to complete the scenario on Front <br />Street. The carnival will be in the parking lot <br />and other activities on Spruce Street. Other <br />activities include the "longest noodle" contest, <br />the "pasta eating"' contest, the "greased pole" <br />contest, and the parade on Main Street. <br />The merchants on these streets have been <br />contacted, are in agreement and welcome the <br />3 <br />
