time for the additional work.) The initial work
for the 18" and 30" waterline work at this time
will amount to $]L15,000 (a range of $107,000 to
$115,000). Authorization is being sought to
contract with Homart for the 18" and 30" waterline
work up to $115,000.
Mayor Meier movE:d that the City enter into a
contract with Homart for the 18" and 30" waterline
work on Cherry ;5t. and McCaslin Blvd. up to
$115,000. Johnson seconded.
Staff feels that it is in the City's best interest
to contract with :Homart for this work, given the
scale of work that: Homart is doing, it would make
sense to combine this work. Staff further feels
that the costs are consistent with inhouse
estimates in going out for bid by the City for
this work. The waterlines are needed in order to
serve the area that will be commercial in the near
future. The agre~sment being sought at this time
is consistent with. the development agreement with
Homart dated November 1984.
The motion was passed unanimously.
CONTINUATION OF
COUNCIL MEETING Hundley reminded Council that this Council Meeting
would be continued to June 25, 1985, in order to
have the Public Hearing for the Liquor License
Application for Pumpernickels. There will also be
a Council Study Session immediately following the
Public Hearing where several items will be
discussed at that time.
Tom Phare informed Council that the contractors
for the Harper Lake project approached staf f f or
an extension of time for their work day. It is
currently 7 a.m. -• 6 p.m. They are requesting 6
a.m. to 8 p.m. for two pieces of equipment so that
they can complete the project somewhat earlier.
By allowing the bulldozers to begin earlier and
finish later, the trucking can begin at 7 a.m. and
continue to 6 p.m. This would cut approximately 2
weeks off their schedule. If this request causes
any problems, the extension will be revoked.
Also, staff will- make arrangements with the
contractor to assure the project is completed
ahead of schedule and that this agreement is
limited to the two pieces of equipment requested.
COUNCIL COMMENTS Leary informed Mayor Meier that he would not be at
the next two Counci 1 Meetings. This wi 11 be the
first time in his 3 1/2 years as Councilmember
that he has missed a Council meeting.
9
