RECESS Mayor Meier moved that there be a short recess at
8:30 p.m.
BOULDER COUNTY LAND
USE PRESENTATION Ed Tepe, Director of the Boulder County Land Use
Department reviewed for Council the County
Commissioners' proposal to consider the rezoning
of approximately ;39,000 acres of unincorporated
land affecting 5000 property owners. Mr. Tepe
gave each Counc:ilmember a copy of staff's
recommendations a:nd background material on the
rezoning project along with a map that defines the
area that is subject to this rezoning.
As a result of t:he presentation and Council
discussion, Luce proposed the following resolution
for Council adoptic>n:
RESOLUTION #17 "Whereas the City of Louisville does not feel that
City residents should subsidize the services
provided to residents of the unincorporated
County; and,Where<~s the City of Louisville does
not feel that Louisville should bear the burden of
providing services to County residents.
Therefore, we urge the Commissioners to develop an
equitable regulatory system to resolve these
issues."
Johnson seconded the motion. Resolution #17,
Series 1985, was adopted unanimously.
Luce contends that residents in the City of
Louisville are subsidizing residents in the County
to use the City's services. Also, in a sense,
residents in the City are double taxed, in Luce's
opinion, as everyone pays County taxes and provide
services to the unincorporated parts of the County
creating an unfair tax burden to the members of
the municipalities who are subsidizing County
services.
AWARD BID - GARZA CONCRETE
STRUCTURES - SO. BOULDER
ROAD MEDIAN IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT Phare presented to Council the bid evaluation on
the South Boulder Road Medians. Centennial
Engineering Inc. prepared the evaluation.
Included in the improvements will be installation
of patterned concrete, exposed aggregate concrete,
median fill, irrigation systems and plantings.
Staff recommends award of the 1985 South Boulder
Road Median Improvement project to Garza Concrete
Structures, Inc.
6
