Ken Kennard, representative for Piute Energy, <br />outlined the project for Council stating that the <br />gas is a clean gas and the operation separates the <br />wet gas from the dry gas. <br />After several Council questions, Mayor Meier moved <br />that Resolution #19 be adopted with the above <br />stated conditions by staff and Planning <br />Commission. Cussen seconded. Resolution #19 was <br />adopted unanimously. <br />AWARD BID - CITY SHOPS Phare explained to Council that on Thursday, <br />August 29th, bids were received for the City Shops <br />project. Hillhouse Associates recommends that the <br />bid be awarded to Clark Construction Co., the low <br />bidder, at their base bid of $589,000 and applying <br />bid alternate #1 for a contract amount of <br />$552,000. Staff also recommends authorization to <br />approach the property owner on Empire Road to work <br />out a cost sharing scenario participate in the <br />project. <br />Mayor Meier moved that the bid for the City Shops <br />be awarded to Clark Construction Co., in the <br />amount of $589,000 and applying bid alternate #1 <br />for a contract amount of $552,000, and authorize <br />staff to work with Security Pacific to obtain <br />financing. Morris seconded. Unanimous. <br />PARK-N-RIDE ON U.S. 36 <br />SUPERIOR/LOUISVILLE <br />INTERCHANGE Council raised a question concerning the proposed <br />fare for the Park-N-Ride Facility under <br />construction at the US 36 Superior/Louisville <br />Interchange. Information obtained from RTD <br />indicates the facility is part of a regional long <br />distance route as is the Boulder Park-N-Ride <br />facility. The proposed fare for the Louisville <br />stop is $1.75, the same as the Boulder fare. <br />Council suggested that the proposed fare should be <br />reduced based on distance. <br />The City Clerk was asked to review the minutes <br />from the meeting where an RTD representative may <br />have suggested fares. <br />Leary moved that staff prepare a letter to Mr. <br />Womack raising all the issues Council discussed. <br />Mayor Meier seconded. Unanimous. <br />INITIATIVE - SALES TAX <br />INCREASE - DISCUSSION A proposed ordinance set forth in the form of an <br />initiative petition was delivered to the City <br />Clerk's office on August 26, 1985, with 366 <br />
