Approval of Pay Request #3 & Change Order <br />#1 - City Shops Project <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS None. <br />RECOGNITION OF EXPLORERS <br />POST #403 Hundley explained that in recent week s the <br />Louisville Explorer's Post has received both <br />local and national attention for their <br />innovative fund-raising efforts. Post Advisor, <br />Patrolman Dan Jackson, gave a presentation <br />explaining the nature of the organization and <br />the ceramic pig that they are marketing as a <br />fund raising activity. Post members were <br />present and applauded by Council for their <br />service, endeavors and dedication to the <br />program. <br />SHOP LOUISVILLE <br />DECEMBER 6TH Tom Brewer, Chairperson of the "Shop <br />Louisville", project detailed the events <br />scheduled for the December 6th kickoff which <br />included free transportation in a double-decker <br />bus and a visit from Santa. The project is <br />sponsored by Louisville Chamber of Commerce, <br />LDC and many Louisville merchants. <br />STREET CLOSURE <br />REQUEST Varra Realty, Inc. requested a street closure <br />on Main Sheet from Spruce to Walnut on <br />December 14th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a <br />benefit for Childrens Hospital. Activities <br />include a window decorating contest, live <br />Manger scene, Christmas Carols, Mr. and Mrs. <br />Claus, photos, Hand Bell Choir, raffle, drawing <br />and sing-a-long. Council unanimously approved <br />the request. <br />RESOLUTION #34 - SPECIAL REVIEW <br />USE - AMERICAN LEGION The American Legion requested a special review <br />use for a fraternal lodge at 525 Main Street at <br />the November 19, 1985, Council Meeting. <br />Because of concern over the adequacy of <br />parking, Council requested that the Legion <br />contact nearby property owners to secure <br />parking and to present evidence of these agree- <br />ments to Council at their December 3, 1985, <br />meeting. <br />Gene Rastberger, Department Commander, related <br />to Council that the American Legion had <br />2 <br />
