Unanimous. <br />ORDINANCE #877 - DISCONTINUANCE <br />OF WATER SERVICE <br />Rautenstrauts read by title only Ordinance #877, <br />"An Ordinance amending the procedure under Title <br />13 of the Louisville Municipal Code concerning <br />discontinuance of Water Service." It is <br />requested that Ordinance #877 be put out for <br />publication and set a Public Hearing for January <br />7th, 1985. <br />Mayor Meier moved that Ordinance #877 be put out <br />for publication and set a Public Hearing for <br />January 7th, 1985. Unanimous. <br />Phare explained that the Ordinance provides for a <br />temporary discontinuance of water service through <br />written notice and a fifteen dollar fee for the <br />shutoff. There would not be a charge for water <br />consumption. The monthly assessment would then only <br />be for bond retirement and interest payment cost <br />per Section 13.12.070 of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code. There shall be written notice and a fifteen <br />dollar fee for reactivation of service. <br />WATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />TRANSFORMER REPLACEMENT Phare explained that there would be a small <br />project at the Water Treatment Plant on December <br />4th in the morning. The transformer is not <br />functioning properly and needs to be replaced. <br />In order to accomplish this, power will have to be <br />cut for approximately 10 minutes twice for <br />switching purposes. This may cause momentary low <br />pressure in the high zone at 10:00 a.m. and noon. <br />Council voiced concern with the short notice and <br />Phare explained that it could be rescheduled but <br />feels that it is important to have it completed as <br />soon as possible. Approved. <br />SEWER BONDS Hundley stated that as Council authorized, staff <br />proceeded with designing and financing a 2.1 mgd <br />wastewater treatment plant expansion. The City's <br />consulting engineer, RMC, has been completing <br />final engineering drawings and seeking permit <br />approval for the 2.1 mgd plant. Additionally, <br />the City's bond underwriter Russ Caldwell, has <br />been finalizing the bond issue for public <br />offering.
